A WORD TO ALL PATRIOTS WHO MAY BE CONFUSED IN THESE TIMES – KNOW WHO YOUR DECEIVER IS, AND HOW HE DECEIVES We must always remember who is in the battle, and what the battle is REALLY about, lest we be deceived. Many will say this is a battle between the good and the bad, the white hats and the black hats, and God and Satan. Let us take it a step further to what is truly at the heart of this battle; because, a reminder to us all, God is not in a battle with Satan to see who is more powerful. He created Satan and can in an instant flick him away if he so chooses. He has sent His Son into the world as a ransom to save us; that through the suffering and death of Jesus, the doors to the Father’s Kingdom have been reopened to us. But, though Christ has won the victory, why does the battle still rage? WHO’S IN THE BATTLE? We are told clearly who is in the battle in Revelation 12: “And a great sign appeared in heaven, a Woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child… And another sign appeared in the heaven; behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems upon his heads… she brought forth a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne … And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world-he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him…the woman fled into the desert…Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.” This “Woman…and offspring” is mentioned as well in Genesis 3:15: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; she shall crush your head, and you shall lie in wait for her heel.”
As we see clearly here, the battle, is first between the Woman (Mary) and Satan, and then between us, (the offspring of the woman) and Satan, … souls and Satan. The battle between God and Satan is for our souls; but it is up to us to CHOOSE whether we will love and serve God as His children, or follow Satan, who said, “non-servium”. There are two camps in this battle: those who are choosing to do God’s Holy Will (Under the Mantle of the Woman, Mary) vs. those who are choosing their own will (hence the spirit of the world, the flesh and the devil). For those of us choosing to serve God, we must remember that we are the “offspring” of the Woman, Mary. She is our spiritual Mother, and we are her children. This is why Jesus, at the foot of the cross, told St. John the beloved disciple (and all of us who choose to be beloved disciples), “Behold your Mother!” (Jn 19:27). The crucifixion of Christ, in which Mary participated intimately, was a type of birthing pangs, to bring forth the Church, as the Blood and Water flowed forth. ARE WE DECEIVED? We must recognize who our deceiver is and why he deceives, to identify his deception. So many are confused today, because they are not seeing the full picture of what is at play here, and thus the sufferings, anxieties and fears are much greater. Do we realize how very many patriots are playing into the hand of the deceiver? Many are doing his bidding because they aren’t going to the heart of what the battle is about. Satan is in battle with the Woman and the Church, who hold and bring forth Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He wants to take down the fullness of the Church; which is the “ark” and refuge of protection that Christ established for us, to keep us armored in His grace. Just as Satan has infiltrated our secular society in subtle and deceptive ways (Beast like a Leopard, Rev. 13), he has infiltrated the Church as well (Beast like a Lamb). How many patriots are now attacking the Catholic Church, devotion to Mary, etc.? It is one thing to attack what is wrong within the Church, but another to attack the Church herself which Christ established; and it is in this that one plays into the hand of the evil one. PROTECTION FROM DECEPTION Only those will NOT BE deceived who seek to put on the mind of Christ. We see clear example of how deceptive the evil one is, even quoting Scripture, when he tempts Jesus in the desert. Jesus, being perfect, was aware of his deception; but Satan is smarter than any of us, and we will only have the grace to rightly discern if we have the mind of Christ, and are seeking the fullness of His truth; not our limited idea of what the truth is. And, this means we must immerse ourselves in the truths of the Church that Christ established, as a protection against the deception of the evil one. We must learn the deposit of faith that Jesus left for us, that was handed down to us by the Apostles. Otherwise, we will be deceived and misled. And, to end this on a very high note to ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS: Turn WHOLEHEARTEDLY to Christ. Come to know the fullness of who Christ is through the “Woman” who bore Him. Take to heart Jesus’ words to us in John 6: “I am the living bread come down from Heaven. He who eats this bread has life within him”. Go back to the early Church Father’s to understand the true meaning of His words. Take heed of His promise, “Behold I am with you always, until the end of time.” Yes, he remains spiritually present with us as we seek to live our Baptismal vows; but He is SUBSTANTIALLY present with us, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Holy Eucharist, as He is in Heaven. May we not miss out on this profound grace He has given to the Church. Jesus has already won the battle. To the degree that we become one with Him, we are redeemed from the law and battle of this fallen state. He invites us to transcend this fallen world, to live in His Kingdom, while here on earth, where the battle has already been won. A special weapon for getting there: the Holy Rosary – a meditation on the most significant Gospel passages, with the “Woman” who knows and loves Christ most. “Let him who has ears to hear, hear” (Mat 11:15). If we enter into the fullness of God’s plan, the greatest number of His children will be saved. “In God We Trust!” God bless America, and the World!
